Jenna has always followed her army colonel father and now she lives in a battlefield in Spain with four other officers. This book was excellent! I've only read the comic adaptation and not the book itself, so I can't say how closely it followed the original work, but honestly there is no need. The pacing in this was perfect-- not too fast or too slow. The character development was very good and you really got to know and appreciate the hero and heroine. And I absolutely loved the heroine; she is a strong, independent female lead who saves herself on more than one occasion without needing the hero to step in. But this doesn't make her arrogant or standoffish. She still has great heart, warmth and depth of emotion. And the hero is valiant and noble without being whiny or too brutish, like so many others I've read. I'm a great fan of these harlequin comics, but so many of them follow the same formula and become forgettable. This one, however, was a thoroughly enjoyable read that I'm sure I will revisit again. If you are a fan like me, this is one you do not want to pass up!Product details
